So Tuesday I start my new job. I'm kind of looking forward to it. Mainly the getting paid part and the not working evenings and weekends part (I'm so glad I'm not going back to school). Because my office is in the north end, specifically 45th St. W., it looks like I'll have to get a car, which I'm none to thrilled about (the alternative is over two hours a day on the bus). My finances are rather drained from the trip so I might have to take out a line-of-credit. I figure I'll worry about getting a place to live once everything else has stabilized. Right now my house is a bit of a gong show.
It's weird to have everyone around me racing around with a combination of work, school prep., and my sisters' ever-present social life, while I'm just trying to kill time until I start work. I'm also trying to catch up on my pop culture. I read Harry Potter and I must say I was quite impressed with it. I think she did a really good job considering how ridiculously high the expectations were. There are only two things I don't understand:
HP SPOILER WARNING!
1. How did Neville end up with the sword of Gryffindor at the end? Didn't the Goblins have it?
2. I forget the other problem, it was late when I finished the book.
I've also watched two out of the eight movies I want to see already. I've seen Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End and Shrek the Third, and I still have to see Harry Potter, Transformers, Spider-man 3, The Fantastic Four, Ratatouille, the Bourne Ultimatum, Nancy Drew, and apparently Stardust. Hmm, that's actually more than eight so I must have added some to the list already. If any of these interest you give me a call, cause it's always more fun to go with someone than alone.
I'm also pumped about the return of Doctor Who. "Gridlock" comes on Monday evening. I've already recorded some old Doctor Who (starring Patrick somebody) because the satellite company is trying to convince us to get the BBC (i.e. a free preview).
Yep, done now.
