Today's Discussion Question
If you could be any superhero, which one would you be? The catch is that along with their abilities you also get their life history and environment (e.g. Batman has to watch his parents get shot in front of him). For those of who don’t read comic books (no, I don’t mean graphic novels) do a TV sci-fi character.

If we go with comic book characters, probably Destruction from the Sandman series. If we're strictly talking about superheroes, probably Barry Allen (aka the silver age Flash.
For TV SF, Q from ST:TNG. I have to admit, I always had a soft spot for tricksters.
I should probably have included my own picks. For superheroes I’d go with Kyle Rayner (the modern Green Lantern). As Green Lantern you have the support of an entire organization, enough power to really make a difference and not fear getting killed (most days anyway), and the opportunity to lead a semi-normal life as well. Unlike being say, Batman or the Martian Manhunter, being a Green Lantern doesn’t necessitate having experienced major tragedies or being cut-off from the people around you. I’ll have to give TV sci-fi a little more thought.
Eric: You’d be an omnipotent being who resorts to sticking lower life-forms in weird situations for amusement? Oh, wait. You’re a biologist who enjoys poking invertebrates.
Doctor Who. Of course. Doctor Who. Screw being able to fly and having stuff shoot out of your wrists, I want a TARDIS.
Of course, if I were Doctor Who, I'd probably follow a pattern set by the second doctor and fill the police box with 18th century scotsmen.
And there are Doctor Who comics, too.
