Sorry for the lack of posting. School is being rather deadly right now. Found out I won $5300 in scholarships. This has helped stop the self name-calling I've been doing today.

I Remember. . .

I remember a man who spared his enemy by letting him play dead.

I remember a man who walked from Russia to the edge of France with nothing but a tattered pair of boots, just to see his family again.

I remember a family that had to report their location to the authorities because their heritage made them “the enemy”.

I remember a man who buried his mother in frozen ground, wrote his older brother to say she had died, and then raised eight of his siblings and ran a farm with only his older sister to aid him.

Trivialities of Human Existence

It recently occurred to me that would be nice to have more friends (I would then be able to intrude upon each friend less while increasing the total amount of time I spend socializing). However, I also realized that I’m incapable of talking to most people. Why is it that the vast majority of conversations one attempts prove untenable? Why is it that there are some people I can talk to all day and never run out of things to say, but with most people my conversations become mere exchanges of unrelated statements? My blames fatigue for part of this, which I suppose makes sense if you consider that speaking to new acquaintances is normally more taxing than speaking with friends. Upon reflection I believe it is largely a matter of trust. When I don’t know someone well I carefully guard all my thoughts and responses, thus making it extremely difficult to communicate. It seems to be necessary in light of the vehemently held contrasting opinions that tend to cause arguments so easily. In any case one can’t but keep trying. Likely these things will be less stressful when I’m not bothered by school.

I wish I was a Time Lord, or at least David Tennant.

Four weeks on Monday.

My lab partners and I just created this website for one of our classes. The numbers you see are values from an analogue to digital converter. The channels labeled horizontal and vertical position actually represent the position of a joystick that's sitting on the lab bench.

Signs of My Brilliance

My little sister just walked up to me without her glasses and said “notice anything”? To which I replied, after careful consideration: “your eyes are really swollen, aren’t they”? Chalk one up for my incredible powers of observation.
